With just over a month till school starts at Liberty Center, the facilities project is winding down. The Liberty Center board got the update that the 1995 renovation is now moving to installation of cabinetry and wiring. Sidewalks are being poured, and asphalt for parking lots commences August 6th. There’s new fencing to go around the football stadium, and the dedication of the new Liberty Center school will take place on Sunday, August 26th at 2pm. Opening day for students is September 4th.
The Liberty Center board approved a bill from the village for water used in the construction process at $9,171.
In personnel action, Emily Hill was hired as a new elementary art teacher, and Bailey Tejkl takes over a bus driver position. There was discussion concerning a program to bring safety resource officers into the Henry County schools; but no action was taken.
And the search for a new superintendent is underway at Liberty Center, with Todd Hugg leaving at the end of the calendar year. Applications are due by September 21st.
