NAPOLEON SCHOOL BD SELLS LAND, HIRES NEW A.D.

It was a busy morning for the Napoleon school board of education, selling land, and hiring employees.  The former West School property has been sold to Suzette Gerken at a cost of $51,000 for the nearly 10-acre parcel.  The property reportedly will be developed into townhouses, and a single family residence.                                 In personnel, the Napoleon school board approved Andrew Ham as the new athletic director in a two-year contract.  Ham is originally from the state of Maine, but has a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Sienna Heights University.  His background includes starting the baseball program at Lourdes University, and serving as a college sports information director.                          The Napoleon Board hired new teachers during the special meeting:  Alison Thomas and Keli Baker as intervention specialists, while Natalie Harvey was approved as a new guidance counselor.              Two year administrative contracts were finalized for principals Tina Roberts and Brian Burden.                  And the Napoleon board accepted the resignation of Isaiah Keefer as intervention specialist, and director of NC-TV.  He is taking a position at a school in Michigan.
