NAPOLEON SCHOOL BOARD HIRES 2 NEW ASST. PRINCIPALS

The Napoleon School Board hired two new assistant principals at their meeting Wednesday, and the deadline for athletic director candidates is approaching Saturday.  The Napoleon Board hired Brian Burden as assistant principal for the high school, while Tina Michele Roberts will take-over as assistant principal of the junior high.              Over 30 candidates have applied for the athletic director position, and interviews will begin in the next week or so.            It’s a different story for boys basketball coach, so Napoleon will likely be extending the deadline for candidates for that position.                                   Two new intervention specialists were hired by the Napoleon Board, including Emily Gerken, and Estherlynn Dale.                   The board accepted the resignation of Adam Smale as special education instructor.                    Official resignations were also accepted from Josh Meyer as athletic director, Dan Curtis as assistant principal, and from Joe Good as boys basketball coach.

A new contract for nursing services was approved with the Henry County Hospital, at an increase of 50-cents per hour.

And a slight increase was reported in the insurance coverage for the district, with a premium cost approaching $97,000.

And the Napoleon Schools have contracted with Great Lakes Biomedical to begin drug testing of extra curricular students on August 1st at a cost of just under $18,900.
