The man who has administered operations at the northwest Ohio regional jail since 1993 was terminated by the CCNO board on Wednesday. Jim Dennis was fired from the executive director position following an internal investigation. Dennis was placed on administrative leave by the CCNO board in late April. At that time, the board hired Kim Riley, an attorney from Columbus to conduct the investigation, and she filed a 37-page report, after going through numerous records. After terminating Jim Dennis, the CCNO board appointed Dennis Sullivan, Director of Operations and Security, as the interim Executive Director. Sullivan has been employed at the regional jail since it opened in 1990.
In other action by the CCNO board, a body scanner was purchased for about $145,000. This will take the place of physical strip searches of inmates, which are required anytime they leave the facility for work duty, court hearings, or other appointments. It’s reported, about 100 strip searches of inmates are required each day due to their movement throughout the facility, and out in the community.
