The local hurdle has been cleared as Napoleon moves forward with their plans for a downtown outdoor refreshment area.  Napoleon Council unanimously approved the measure at their Monday night meeting.  The proposal now goes to the Ohio liquor commission for final approval.

Following a public hearing on a request for ag-district designation for the Hibbard Orchbard, the issue was tabled by Napoleon city council.  They want more information on how zoning codes would be impacted.   The Hibbards are already selling produce, and bee-keeping supplies as they move toward establishment of an organic vegetable and fruit operation.

There was discussion but still no decision on how to payback a sizeable chunk of dollars in income tax refunds for some local companies.  Napoleon is considering a plan to stretch that payback over the next three years.

And Napoleon Council went into executive session to discuss economic development and pending litigation; but no action was taken.
