The topic of utilities was definitely a focal point of discussion at Hamler village Council Monday. Hamler Council approved first reading on a $20 per month charge for debt reduction on the new water plant. And a hike of $2 per month was implemented for usage at over the first 1,000 gallons per month. Hamler Council also talked about putting a ballot issue on to bring electric aggregation to the community. This would allow Hamler to negotiate for electric rates as one group, rather than the single residential charge from First Energy. A meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 25th to provide more information to residents on the electric aggregation issue. It will be held at the Hamler Legion Hall Monday at 6:30pm.
