It’s the time of year to focus on street projects, and that’s what Defiance City Council was up to Tuesday night. Council approved first reading on an ordinance to rebuild Agnes Street off Karnes Avenue with Gerken Paving at about $250,000. A street project for Geneva Boulevard was tabled.
And Defiance Council authorized a Nature works grant to help pay for a shelterhouse at Compo Park along Karnes, at about $31,000. This is part of a long range plan to add playgrounds and other upgrades to the park.
And Defiance will spend about $200,000 to replace a rescue vehicle for the fire department.
