Something new from the era of the 1800’s sounds like a misnomer; but that’s exactly what they’re showcasing at the new Museum of Fulton County, set to open Saturday at 10am. It’s a new joint facility across from the Fulton County Fairgrounds along route 108, north of Wauseon. ODOT shares the property, along with the Fulton County Visitor’s Bureau. John Swearingen, Jr. has been hard at work collecting and labeling items for the grand opening of the historic showcase. There are historic artifacts from all over Fulton County in the 4,000 square foot museum. You’ll want to read the stories from the Civil War and Underground Railroad, see bones from mastodons found in the region, and so much more. Museum hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am till 4pm, and Sunday from noon till 4.
