One person is dead, and two others were injured in a house fire that struck during the early morning hours today (Fri.) in Bryan. Assistant Fire Chief Pool reports crews were dispatched to the Killion home at 315 Lebanon Street in Bryan at 2:46am. The initial report indicated there were three people in the home; but when crews arrived one subject was outside. The blaze ignited in the kitchen area of the structure, and there was smoke damage throughout the home. Fire personnel made entry into the house, and recovered the first victim. They returned to the burning home and recovered another person inside. The blaze took the life of 61 year old Debra Killion of Bryan, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Williams County Coroner, Dr. Park. An autopsy has been ordered for Debra Killion to determine the exact cause of death.
Injured in the fire was 69 year old James Killion, Sr. of Bryan, who was transported to the Bryan Hospital, and then transferred by Life Flight to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He is listed in stable condition. 35 year old James Killion Jr. of Bryan was also injured, and was treated at the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point; and mutual aid was supplied by Montpelier, Alvordton, Edgerton, and Brady Township departments, with Stryker fire department assisting as well.
This is the second fatal fire to hit Bryan in the past 5 years, with a double-fatal blaze reported a few years back in the city.
