The Defiance County Public Health Department has announced they have abated the sewage issue discovered at Northtowne Estates last October. Due to the presence of E-Coli, a public health nuisance was issued at that time. Immediate measures were taken to alleviate raw sewage from a faulty system. A new pump at the lift station was installed, and lime was applied to deactivate the E-coli. Defiance health commissioner Jamie Gerken thanked the property owner for working with local officials to get the situation resolved.
