DEFIANCE TO APPLY FOR BIKE PATH GRANT-CLEVELAND AV

Traveling to school could be safer for students in Defiance, if a grant application is approved to ODOT.   Defiance Council approved that grant application at their meeting Tuesday, seeking 95% funding of a multi-use path along Cleveland Avenue.   That path could handle bikes and pedestrian traffic, with the city’s share at $20,000, plus another $85,000 for design, if approved by ODOT.

Defiance Council approved a contract with DGL engineers to design street rebuilds on East High, Agnes, and College Place this year.  The contract is for close to $520,000.

A proposal to purchase a new dump truck for the water department was let lie by council.
