FATAL CRASH ON U.S. 24 NEAR NAPOLEON, SECOND ACCID

U.S. 24 looked like a war zone near Napoleon this (Tues) morning, after a fatal collision, and another accident tied up traffic for hours.  The Henry County Sheriff’s office reports the initial crash occurred at the intersection of county road P and Route 24 at 10:23am.   James Good of Napoleon was travelling westbound on road P, and was crossing the four-lane highway, when he was struck on the driver’s side by a semi-tractor rig.  James Good suffered critical injuries; and was pronounced dead at the scene.   The driver of the truck was also injured, and transported to the Henry County Hospital by Napoleon Rescue.                        The accident caused a long-line of traffic, and a short time later, a semi ran into the rear end of another rig, pushing both units into the median.   One of those drivers suffered serious injuries; and was transported by Life Flight from the scene.             The eastbound lane of U.S. 24 is now open to traffic, but the westbound lane is closed for cleanup of debris.
