NAPOLEON COUNCIL APPROVES GRANT APPLICATION-TRANS.

By suspension of rules and by emergency, Napoleon Council has approved a resolution to improve transportation in the community.   The move means Napoleon will apply for grant funding from ODOT to help build sidewalks along Jahns Road to protect pedestrians and students travelling to school.  The other portion of the grant would help link the towpath through the city of Napoleon.   About 1.1 million dollars is sought in the application, with Napoleon responsible for 5% of the project cost, if the grant is approved.  The deadline to submit this grant is May 18th.

Napoleon Council discussed working with a national testing network in Civil Service testing for police and fire department candidates, in order to speed-up the process.

Council approved a change-order for the water treatment plant rehabilitation project, at $41,297.  That will help pay for a protective wall in the area where chemicals are stored.

And Napoleon Council went into executive session to discuss pending litigation, economic development and personnel; but no action was taken.
