LC SCHOOLS WRAP-UP AUCTION OF UNWANTED ITEMS

They’re still tallying-up the expenses but it looks like the three auctions of unwanted items from the Liberty Center school demolition will bring-in about $150,000.   Some of the top items included boilers from the buildings, electric transformers, and the doors to the classrooms were a hot commodity.  The Boy Scouts from Fulton County purchased those for a new building they are putting-up.                      The bleachers from the old Liberty Center gymnasium are being re-used in the new middle school gym.         The district hopes to net between $115,000 to $120,000 depending on expenses, with all the remaining money going to the school’s general fund.   Superintendent Todd Hug reports the online auction system likely brought in more money than a regular auction, avoiding weather issues and parking problems.
