DEFIANCE TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ON EAST HIGH STREET

There are safety and environmental concerns leading to a construction project on East High Street in Defiance.  City Engineer Melinda Warner says close to 3 million dollars will be spent on the project, including installation of a waterline, and replacement of the road.   The intersection of East High and River Road will also be re-designed for safety, making it closer to a 90-degree angle.  The waterline is nearly 70 years old in that section of Defiance, and input from citizens in that area was a critical part of improving the intersection.
