A couple of big street projects were approved by Defiance Council Tuesday night. Nearly 3 million dollars will be spent on the reconstruction of East High Street, with a grant supplying $325,000 for the waterline portion of the project. Another 1 million dollars will go toward the reconstruction and improvements on College Place.
Defiance Council did not have the votes for the parking lot improvements proposed for Bronson Park’s ‘splash pad’ project, slated to cost $106,000. That proposal will come back for discussion in a special meeting on Saturday morning. Another $25,000 was approved by Defiance Council to upgrade the bathhouse and restroom at the water park, and three new vehicles were approved for the Defiance Police Department.
