The Holgate School district will be saying good-by to high school-middle school principal Cassandra Hemmelgarn at the end of the school year. Hemmelgarn is stepping down from her administrative position to be closer to her family, after serving the district for four years. That position will be posted in April, with hopes of hiring a new principal in June.
With Holgate elementary principal Laura Young approved for family medical leave, the school board has hired Stephen Seagrave as interim principal.
Ken Gineman (jin-a-mun) was hired as a seasonal groundskeeper at Holgate; and the board approved an overnight trip for the FFA to attend the state convention in May.
