NAPOLEON CONSIDERING INCENTIVES FOR RESID. CONST.

Would it benefit Napoleon to offer incentives for new home construction in the city?    That’s an issue a Napoleon committee is discussing, in particular, the option to waive building fees for new residential development.   The Henry County CIC has listed increased housing as a key to economic development for the area.              Napoleon’s Municipal Properties Committee has recommended re-establishment of the city’s ‘housing review committee’ to take a closer look at this issue.   Another factor that may impact housing is the fact the median age in Napoleon has risen from 36 back in 2000, to recent figures putting that median age at 41.

There was also dialogue about making changes at the intersection of Industrial and Independence Drive in Napoleon.   But it looks like the committee and council will wait to see how traffic patterns are impacted by the second river bridge planned for construction at Industrial Drive in Napoleon.
