A new member of village council, and a hike in sewer rates were all on the docket for Deshler Council this week. Council approved an ordinance to increase sewer rates by 10% this year, effective in March. Tap fees for sewer systems will remain the same.
Mark Schwiebert resigned his position on Deshler Council, due to a move outside the village. He was presented with a certificate and serving the community for 8 years. His slot will be taken by Pam Abrams, who was voted to fill the unexpired term.
Deshler Council re-appointed Don L. Parsons as community development coordinator for 2018, with a $75 per month raise. And the village retained Dave Seeman, administrator of the Memorial Field Ballpark, at the same cost as last year.
