NAPOLEON COUNCIL TIES ON VOTE FOR SHELTER RENTAL

An ordinance that would increase the fees for shelterhouse rental in Napoleon was defeated on second reading, when the measure tied in a vote held Monday night at the city council session.    A tie means the proposal fails, and no increases will be implemented at this time.

Napoleon Council approved a resolution to spend over $25,000 for a GIS system to map the city’s utilities on computer.      An ordinance was also approved amending the income tax code.  The state is seeking to have local income tax filed at the state level, but many cities are protesting the move, including Napoleon.

And Napoleon Council approved the purchase of two trucks for the maintenance and water departments.  The cost was included in this year’s budget requests.
