The filing deadline for the May ballot has passed, and in Defiance County there are two candidates running for the 82nd house seat now occupied by Craig Riedel. Riedel is running again on the Republican ticket, and he will be challenged in November with Democrat Aden Baker of Grover Hill filing to run for the Ohio General Assembly. Only one candidate filed for County Commissioner- that’s incumbent Republican Ryan Mack. And Jill Little is running to retain her seat as Defiance County Auditor.
The only issue filed for the May ballot is a Sunday liquor permit in Defiance for the proposed Shoney’s Restaurant on the south side of the city.
