The first reading was approved on legislation by Deshler Village Council to raise sewer rates for residents in 2018 by 10%. That would take the minimum charge from just over $19 per month, to just under 21-dollars. Tap fees would remain the same at $250.
A new agreement to provide police protection for Bartlow Township was approved by Deshler Council at $2,500 per year, the same as 2017.
Donnell Parsons reported research is underway to see if there are any other blighted houses in Deshler that qualify for demolition, with funding through the Henry County Commissioners.
Richard McCance and Michael Woods were sworn-in as new members of council, and Jim Suber was elected president for 2018.
