HUNDREDS ATTEND DEDICATION FOR NEW DEFIANCE SCHOOL

Hundreds of local residents poured through the doors of the new high school middle school facility at Defiance City Schools for an open-house on Sunday.   Many stood wide-eyed as they gazed at the new gymnasium, cafeteria, and academic areas of the structure.  The building will house close to 1,300 students in grades 6 through 12.   Featured speakers at the dedication included members of the school board, state representative Craig Riedel, Mayor Mike McCann, and former student and major league baseball player, Jon Niese.      Local architect Craig Beilharz reported a committee of community members helped to provide input for the design of the new learning environment for students.
