Five applicants have submitted their names as applicants for the vacant seat for state representative in the 81st house district. The list includes: Justin Barnhart and Thomas Liebrecht of Putnam County; and three candidates from Henry County: Jim Hoops, Steve Lankenau, and Christopher Meyer. A five member panel will consider the candidates, and make a recommendation to House Speaker Clifford Rosenberger. One of the panel members is Representative Craig Riedel of Defiance. The 81st house seat was held by Rob McColley of Napoleon, who was appointed recently to take the vacant 1st senate district position.
