NAPOLEON POLICE FIRE OFFICER FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

The city of Napoleon Police Department had to let go one of its own, after a federal law enforcement investigation revealed an officer was involved in child pornography.   Nicolas Evanoff, a 7 year veteran of the Napoleon Police Department was fired Wednesday night when news of the investigation surfaced, and he was indicted by federal authorities.  The indictment alleges computer crimes of a serious nature against Evanoff, and the alleged possession of child pornography.  The city of Napoleon is cooperating with federal law enforcement in this case in every aspect possible.  The Napoleon Police Department was already down a staff member with the recent retirement of the chief, and advancement of Dave Mack to that position.  The city will now be looking to fill two slots when they host their next testing program in January.   Applications for those positions are due Friday (tomorrow).
