The village of Holgate has two new council members. Holgate Council had three residents submit letters of intent; and they named Ethan Matson and Mike Medina to those slots. They will officially take office on January 1st, and will serve terms through 2019. To keep those council seats, they would have to run in the November 2019 election.
Holgate Council renewed their contract for police protection with the Henry County Sheriff’s office. The cost remains the same at $30 per hour, with 30 hours per week of patrols.
And Holgate is seeking funding help in the community development block grant program, for a neighborhood revitalization grant. A half-million dollars is requested; but more public input will be gathered to determine the village projects that will be listed for potential funding.
