DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS-HOSPITAL BONDS

The Defiance County Commissioners hosted a public hearing Monday for the possible issuance of Ohio Hospital Facilities Revenue Bonds in 2018.  The bonds would be used to finance, refinance, or reimburse the cost of acquisition, construction and equipping of real property and improvements to Mercy Health hospital facilities in Defiance.  Those facilities include locations on East Second Street in Defiance, the First Church of Christ facility, and 197 Island Parkway in Defiance, also known as the Mercy Health Sleep Lab.      The amount of the bonds would not exceed 850-million dollars.  Some of that total could be used to finance and re-finance hospital facilities located outside the county.
