A rollover accident in Defiance has taken the life of a female passenger. Defiance Police responded to the 900 block of South Clinton Street at 1:33pm Tuesday, where 52 year old Ruben Torres of Defiance had lost control of his auto, going left of center. His vehicle was struck by a van driven by 56 year old Raymond Gentile of Toledo. The Torres auto rolled onto its side, pinning Ruben Torres and his passenger, 64 year old Debra Torres of California inside. The victims had to be extricated by Defiance Fire Department, and were then transported to the Defiance Regional Medical Center. Debra Torres died of her injuries at the hospital; while Ruben Torres was transported by air ambulance to a Toledo Hospital. Raymond Gentile sustained minor injuries, and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Defiance.
