The Henry County Sheriff’s office investigated a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon that claimed the life of a county resident. The collision took place at the intersection of route 108 and road Y. 65 year old Gerald Gerschutz of Holgate was westbound on road Y, and failed to stop at the intersection of route 108. His auto was struck by a northbound pickup driven by 59 year old James Maag of Ottawa. Gerald Gerschutz suffered critical injuries; and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in that car, 34 year old Dustin Gerschutz of Holgate sustained serious injuries, and he was transported by air ambulance to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. James Maag was also transported by Life Flight to St. V’s. Holgate and New Bavaria fire departments assisted at the scene.
And Napoleon Police made a couple of arrests over the weekend. Just after 5:30am Saturday, officers were called to 310 West Main Street, where 56 year old Karolyn Harmon of Napoleon was charged with Burglary. Harmon was transported to the regional jail.
And 54 year old Richard Bricker of Napoleon was charged with Domestic Violence following an incident in the 1000 block of Dodd Street at 10:27pm Saturday. Bricker was also charged with Child Endangering, and transported to CCNO.
