A collection of school supplies donated by students at Holgate will soon be headed to an elementary school in Houston. Over 200 pounds of paper, pencils, and markers will make the trip from Holgate to areas where flooding damaged classrooms.
The Holgate School Board reviewed that project, and in personnel, they accepted the resignation of Sherri Krueger at the end of the school year. Krueger teaches Title-1 reading, and will retire with 32 years of service to the district.
The board approved overnight trips for the Holgate FFA and cheerleaders, headed to Indianapolis and Florida. And Holgate was again selected for funding in the 21st Century Grant program after-school. It’s a five-year program, with over $637,000 being distributed over that span.
