The Defiance City Schools have wrapped-up a summer of salary adjustments for staff, and now the new year is underway. Earlier in the summer, the teaching staff was awarded increases in pay, to try and make the district more competitive in attracting quality instructors. The raise move the base pay to what the previous first level had been. The final meeting in August included salary hikes for a number of administrators, including building principals and assistants, director of operations, special services and athletics, along with food and transportation directors. Those salary increases ranged from 2 to 4%. And one-year salary adjustments were approved for the Superintendent and Treasurer of Defiance City Schools at 3.5%, at a meeting held in mid September.
