NAPOLEON COUNCIL SWEARS-IN NEW POLICE CHIEF

The Tuesday Napoleon Council session opened with the oath-of-office for the newest department head- Police Chief Dave Mack.   The ceremony included family and friends, along with members of other law enforcement, former Chief Bob Weitzel, and members of the legal community and staff.

Napoleon Council also discussed some items that were sent-on to committee for more dialogue.  One issue is a review of the city’s sewer rates, which will be tackled by consultants from Courtney and Associates.   And a concern about lack of sidewalks along a portion of Glenwood Avenue was brought to council, in the area between Kenilworth and Bales Road, adjacent to the gymnastics academy.  Due to safety issues, that discussion will now move to the Municipal Properties Committee.     And a look at Napoleon’s investment policy and portfolio was forwarded to the council ‘finance and budget’ committee.
