COLLECTION FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS IN DEFIANCE

National forecasters are not predicting any hurricanes along the Maumee River; but residents in northwest Ohio can help those who are dealing with these massive storms.  Churches in Defiance are collecting clean-up supplies to be sent to Beaumont, Texas where Hurricane Harvey dumped loads of rain, and residents have been forced from their homes.   A truck filled with supplies is leaving Defiance early Friday, so the collection is taking place today and tomorrow (Thur.), at the northtowne mall in front of Penneys.   Any buckets, mops, sponges, towels, shovels, brushes or other cleaning supplies will be accepted from 7am till 9pm each day.  Simply carry them up the ramp and into the truck in the parking lot.   Your donation will help someone in Texas return to their home.
