A Michigan man is in custody in connection with a stolen vehicle and pursuit that occurred early Monday morning, commencing in Defiance. The Henry County Sheriff’s office assisted in the chase on U.S. 24 at about 1:30am yesterday, when the subject pulled-off at the Industrial Drive exit. The male subject fled from his vehicle into a field, and the Napoleon Police and Sheriff’s office canine unit was brought to the scene. A perimeter was set-up around the field, and the dog tracked the suspect, who exited the field into the hands of an officer. 29 year old Morris Broadnax of Detroit was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Failure to Comply. It’s believed the vehicle was stolen from a Defiance car dealership. Broadnax is being held at CCNO.
