The workplace is a much safer place than it was a century ago; but employees are still losing their lives in accidents on the job. The Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation is hosting their annual Fallen Workers Memorial Service on Thursday. This event honors those who have lost their lives as a result of a workplace injury or illness. This past year, the Bureau of Worker’s Comp handled 120 death claims of employees around the state. Last year the number was 129, and the peak this decade was 145 deaths in 2011.
