Despite a decline of over 16%, sales tax revenues in Henry County during the month of August hit their second highest total in history. County Auditor Kevin Garringer reports sales tax receipts this month at $365,695, which is down by about $60,000 from August 2016. But last year’s figure was inflated by a large one-time payment assessed to a company. With the August dispersement, sales tax revenues in Henry County are at nearly 2.9 million dollars for the year. That’s still over $125,600 ahead of last year’s pace through 8 months.
