Every county in the region saw their unemployment numbers rise in July, except for one. Henry County recorded a decline in their jobless rate from 5.3 to 5.1% last month. That tied for the lowest mark in the four county area with Fulton and Williams Counties; while Defiance County checked-in at 5.3% Fulton County and Defiance County’s unemployment ticked-up by a tenth of a percent; while Williams County reported an increase of a half-percent.
Putnam County had the lowest jobless rate in the region for July at 4.1; but it was still an increase from 3.7 the month before.
Around Ohio, the lowest unemployment rate was 3.5% in Mercer County. While the highest jobless number was in Meigs County at 8.5%. Every county in northwest Ohio recorded an unemployment rate below the state average.
