The Hicksville Fire Department has released more information concerning a fatal fire that struck at a rural Hicksville residence on Breininger Road Monday around 9:15am. The victim of the fire was the resident who lived there, Patricia Apple. When fire crews entered the home, they found the victim in a hallway a short distance from the exterior door. Patricia Apple was transported to Community Memorial Hospital of Hicksville; but she was pronounced dead at the hospital. It’s believed the blaze ignited in the bathroom area of the home. The residence has been declared a total loss; but the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated. Hicksville Fire Department was supported at the scene by Sherwood, Edgerton, Antwerp, Crane Township, and Delaware Township fire departments.
