A Hicksville man was arrested in connection with an abduction reported in that village Tuesday. The Defiance County sheriff’s office and Hicksville Police converged on a residence in the 500 block of Whitten Avenue in Hicksville around 3:30pm Tuesday, seeking 49 year old Douglas T. Blade of Hicksville. Officers set-up a perimeter around the house, and Blade eventually exited at 6:15pm.Neighbors were told to shelter in place while the incident was active. Douglas Blade was taken into custody and charged with Abduction and Domestic Violence. He was scheduled in court Wednesday. The alleged abduction took place at a gas station on West High Street in Hicksville. Blade is currently awaiting sentencing in Defiance County for Gross Sexual Imposition, in another case.
