A 10.3 million dollar transportation project will be opening in Napoleon on Tuesday, November 9th. That’s when ODOT takes down the barricades, and opens the new bridge over the Maumee River to traffic at Industrial Drive. A public ceremony will take place at 10am that morning, and will include the River City Rodders taking the first drive on the span, once the ribbon is cut. The public has been submitting names for the new bridge, which will be unveiled on the day of the opening on November 9th. ODOT Deputy Director Patrick McColley and Henry County Engineer Tim Schumm will lead the event, which will be held on the south side of the bridge; and the public is invited to attend.
The Vern Nagel Company is winding down construction, with the first roundabouts in Henry County being placed on the north and south sides of the bridge, helping traffic on county road 424 on the north side, and state route 110 on the south side. There are some finishing details that will require work through June of 2022.
