DEATH PENALTY AFFIRMED FOR JAMES WORLEY IN FULTON COUNTY MURDER FROM 2016

After hearing arguments in a Fulton County murder from five years ago, the Ohio Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence handed down for James Worley of rural Delta. It was a July night in 2016, when the Fulton County Sheriff’s office was called concerning a missing young woman by the name of Sierra Joughin. Joughin was riding bicycle that evening and never returned home. Her body was later found in a cornfield, and James Worley was convicted on 17 counts including murder. Evidence was found in Worley’s barn, and at the scene, that tied the suspect to the murder. The Ohio Supreme Court has affirmed the death sentence, and James Worley is scheduled to be executed for the crimes on May 20th of 2025.
