In less than three months, law officers in Putnam County have investigated 3 fatal traffic accidents in which seat belts were not in use. As a result, the highway patrol and Putnam County Sheriff’s office will be working together next week, during the Putnam County Fair to emphasize seat belt enforcement.
Putnam County Sheriff Brian Siefker reports their investigations show that if seat belts had been worn in these fatal crashes, the outcome would have been different. He stated, it only takes seconds to buckle-up; and those few seconds can save lives.
