A new collective bargaining agreement was approved between teachers and the Holgate School Board of Education Monday night. The three-year pact will give teachers a 3% increase in base salary the first year, followed by increases of 2.15% in year-2, and a 2% hike in the third year. Insurance premium contributions for teachers will remain the same. And each employee will receive a stipend in June for the additional work required during the Covid pandemic. The board thanked the staff and appreciates their efforts to keep all students safe.
This same wage package will also go to the classified and administrative staff at Holgate Schools going forward for the next three years. The press release indicates a significant accomplishment was the amount of collaboration and professionalism displayed during negotiations. These salary adjustments will keep Holgate within their 5-year financial forecast.
