NAPOLEON CITY COUNCIL APPROVES BID FOR WASTE WATER PLANT IMPROVEMENTS

A huge contract was approved by Napoleon City Council Monday night for needed improvements at the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The estimated cost of the project was over 11.4 million dollars, and the bid was awarded at 11.3 million to Kirk Brothers of Findlay. That bid includes some alternative work added to the project. Completion on the work should be sometime in 2022.

Napoleon Council tabled the plans and specs for the American Road and Oakwood Avenue improvements. But they did authorize the purchase of a small dump truck for the operations department at $105,000.

Some new contracts for fire and rescue service were approved by suspension Monday night, with Harrison, Napoleon and Freedom townships, along with the village of Florida and South Joint Ambulance District.

And a third and final reading will authorize the annexation of just over 3 acres of land along county road 424 west of Napoleon to be brought into the city.
