This fall, the Wauseon Exempted Village Schools are kicking-off a 3.1 million dollar energy project, designed to save the district in power usage for decades to come.Dynamix Energy Services of Columbus is spear-heading the construction, which will include replacement of two 160-ton air-cooled chiller-AC units at the high school.Other h-vac upgrades throughout the Wauseon School facilities are planned, along with installation of new LED lighting for the auditorium.The move was precipitated by an aging h-vac system at the Wauseon Primary School, and the board and administration began to look for alternatives.
Wauseon Schools are expected to save about $208,500 in energy costs the first year, and will likely maintain that kind of savings for years to come.
Other schools to partner with Dynamix for energy-saving projects include Groveport Madison and Reynoldsburg from central Ohio, along with Fairfield Union Schools.
Local vendors will be utilized for the project including Krauss-Lane Electric, and Earl Mechanical Services.The construction window is likely to take the project from early October this year, to mid summer 2021.
