An intergovernmental agreement between Liberty Center and the Northwestern Water and Sewer District was approved on first reading at Liberty Center village council Tuesday night. That means Liberty Center will be receiving water from the Maumee River, through Bowling Green’s system, and through a Northwestern Water and Sewer pipeline in Weston, travelling the 12 miles to Henry County.Liberty Center was turned down for a grant from the USDA for the project, but they will utilize a 1.5% interest loan. That will likely put the rate at $8.15 per 1,000 gallons for Liberty Center customers. But that won’t happen until 2022 at the earliest, so the community will still get their water from Napoleon until that time.
