The body of a missing person in the city of Defiance has been recovered by dive teams in the Auglaize River.Defiance Police were looking for 24 year old Saul Lopez Rocha, after he went missing Monday, June 15th.At about 9:30 this (Thur.) morning, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Toledo Fire and Rescue Dive team were about to initiate a search of the Auglaize River, when they received a call of a body in the river near the railroad bridge.
The body was recovered, and was found to be a deceased male.That victim was later positively identified as Saul Lopez Rocha.Defiance Police suspect Rocha was involved in a vehicle crash back on Tuesday in the 800 block of Summit Street, which runs parallel along the east side of the Auglaize River.The driver of the vehicle in that accident fled from the scene that day, after striking a residence.Also assisting at the scene were the Black Swamp Search and Rescue Team, along with a K-9 unit and the Defiance County Coroner’s office.
