During the construction season, it’s not unusual to hear word of a trenching accident, when crews are digging sewer lines, and there is a soil cave-in.The Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation is working to be pro-active and protect those construction workers by offering a new safety grant program. The BWC would provide 2 million dollars in grant funds to help Ohio public and private companies to purchase equipment that will substantially reduce or eliminate injuries caused in trenching and excavation.Last year, two men were killed in separate trench collapses, just days apart in Marysville and near Dayton.
