NAPOLEON COUNCIL APPROVES CITY BUDGET FOR 2020

The budget for 2020 in the city of Napoleon was approved by council Monday night, with income tax projections at 4.215 million dollars.Napoleon Council will work within those revenues as they plan their spending for next year.

Following an executive session, council agreed to a new three year contract for the union at the Napoleon fire department.Employees will receive 2.25% pay increases each year of the agreement, if approved by council when the legislation is heard.Pay raises were approved for the law director and city manager during the Monday night meeting, at 4.5% for next year, along with a 2.5% increase for the new finance director.

Napoleon Council awarded the bid for demolition of the swimming pool at Glenwood Park to the Fenson Company of Ft. Jennings at $91,000.That’s way below the engineer’s estimate of $223,000.

And the city of Napoleon will be part of a resurfacing project ODOT has planned for route 108 in 2020.The scope of the work will include the stretch from Holgate into the city of Napoleon.
