There was lengthy discussion on future sidewalks for the city of Defiance at their council session Tuesday night.Council had directed staff to come-up with a policy for installing sidewalks moving forward; but no money was set-aside for the project.And Defiance Council approved a business owner detaching from the city on a 7 acre parcel on the very west side along county road 424, in order to obtain a liquor permit that is available in Defiance Township.There is none available in the city.The plan by the company is to then annex back into the city, once the permit is secured.
